Three Things

Today morning, I signed a check. It took me about 8-9 test signatures before getting my original one. I realized that I’ve not used pen in past several months. That means, during past several months, I did not write even a word! Darn!

I immediately took a notepad & a gel-pen and starting writing whatever popped up in my mind. Boy, I found it difficult to write! My handwriting – blah! I feel sorry for myself. I’ve been so much dependent on computers that I almost forgot how to write! 50 years from now, when each one of us will have a computer to do everything we want to, will anyone care to ‘write’? Or we all will have to ‘type’? Or probably everything will be voice-activated? Will we give up ‘writing’ forever?

Why am I bothered so much?

Do not buy books from Crosswords.

Two days ago, a famous personality from the town said the following about me to my mother on phone –

“I’m very pleased to meet your son. I really liked the way he talks & it reflects that he belongs to a very good family. He has a bright future & one day he will earn a big name…..(and lot more 🙂 )”

…**slap** on face to those who told me that I’m average in communication skills.

Sorry for the late comment, but cannot hold back, Dont mind ! 🙂

You intend to say that you were signing a cheque and NOt a check ! Right 😉

You very well know our love for correct English –
You might think I am in fault-finding mode, you have every right to have your opinion!

But i think this is the best way in which I can contribute to self as well as others’ learning !

You have no clue how much I appreciate that you took out time to find out the mistake(?). Probably we refer different Dictionaries.

Americal Heritage Dictionary has a 10th definition of word ‘Check(n)’ as –

A written order to a bank to pay the amount specified from funds on deposit; a draft.

Which is what I typed in my post. Kindly go through following link and search for words “American Heritage Dictionary” and then look at the 10th point under it.

Kindly do not let this comment turn you off. Comments from my dearest readers are my only motivation to keep adding junk to this blog.

Well ! Thats the reason I never shy away from posting or blurting out a comment anywhere the moment I feel of doing so.

You see, there is a learning involved everywhere. One just needs to find avenues however stupid they may seem to you at first thought!

Thanks a lot for taking time to enlighten me with “American Heritage Dictionary” , It surely rocks !

    Perception matters Dood !
Junk for someone is more often than not learning for someone else ! 🙂
