Chinese bulbs, Chinese mobikes, Chinese clocks, Chinese

and now, the Chinese Web Browser! Has the Firefox killer arrived?

Take a look at Maxthon! The new web browser from China. No wonder Big K is trying it out 🙂 . As a matter of fact, this post comes from the Maxthon browser.

First Impressions:

I have Windos Vista installed on my Dell XPS machine. Maxthon’s default skin looks amazing on Vista. I wish I could try it Maxthon Screenshoton XP machine. No doubt the creators of this browser have done a great job with the looks of the browser. Of course the browser is completely skinnable. If you don’t like the default skin, you can create your own skin with sparkling pink on your toolbar.

Ease of use:

The browser uses the concept of tabbed browsing which is not a new concept. Thanks to Firefox for popularizing tabbed browsing. I’m not able to find out how to add extra buttons to the toolbar. Anyway. Not a big problem. Maxthon has tried to combine the best features of IE7 & Firefox, therefore its pretty easy to use.

Features:

Full list of features is available here. No ‘great’ features, but I think ‘anti-freeze’ thing is cool. The browser doesn’t freeze like the Firefox does when you load up Firefox & Outlook 2007 at the same time.

This browser reminds me of NeoPlanet, a cool browser I had tried years ago. Both NeoPlanet & Maxthon run on Internet Explorer engine.

I personally do not think that Maxthon will kill FireFox, which has not yet killed IE. But if you want cool looks, go for Maxthon!
