Is it just me and my anti-idiot brain or I represent the thought of the masses? My x-ray vision has spotted stupidity in yet-another-different TV show named – Lead India.
The show intends to choose a leader from a group of people who have already been doing exceptional work in their own chosen field. To start with, I respect each of the contestants & the work they are doing. Hats off to you! It takes courage, strong will power & faith to do what you are doing.
I however doubt the real motive behind this initiative by TOI. Times of India is no doubt a respected newspaper in India. I watched first few episodes of this show with great interest assuming that Star One guys came up with a very good reality show concept. I expected quality. I expected sense & I wanted to see the real problems of India being discussed in the show. But, I’m disappointed.
In today’s episode, Mr. Anupam Kher (the anchor) asked contestant following questions –
Q. Who do you think is a better actor: Shah Rukh Khan or Amitabh Bachchan?
Q. Who played Sanjay Dutt’s wife in Mission Kashmir?
Q. Who was awarded the man-of-the-match title in 1983 world-cup semi-finals?
and many more such questions.
Now, how many of you really expect your leader to know answers to these questions? Would you say, “Dood! You don’t know Saif Ali Khan’s Dog’s name???…how can you lead India??”
W.T.H ! (i.e. What The Heck!)
Give us a break, guys! India goes beyond Bollywood, Cricket & The Taj Mahal. Don’t ask the contestants questions on stupid Bollywood films and Cricket. We’ve enough of it on rest of the TV channels.
I wonder if you will ask the contestants to sing song, to see if they have a voice good enough to keep the audience glued to seat for hours. I wonder if you will ask the contestants to participate in frog race to see if they are physically fit. And last but not the least, ask them to plead for the sms-votes to the common man of India.
Please stop the non-sense & bring in some good stuff.
