Tell me your dreams

The more I interact with people the more I learn about them. The more I learn about people, the more I learn about the ‘masses’. This learning enables me to understand people better. Not that I like to understand people and the way they are; it helps to understand people. I’ve realized one common thing with most of the people – they don’t have a dream!

Well, they do have dreams – not a dream. So for most part of their life; people wander cluelessly; not knowing where they want to go, taking each day as it comes. I do not say its not good to be like that; but how do you imagine traveling on a road without knowing where you’re heading to? I’d be upset with myself if I were in such a situation. But people love it. When you don’t have a dream, you don’t have to work on it. That means, you don’t have to face any problem. That means, you don’t have a challenge. That means, you live your life like each day is a XEROX copy of the previous one. It makes sense, for most of the people.

But then, there are few people – who have dreams, but just dreams. They are easily achievable dreams. Like, most of the IT engineers want a flat of their own & then they spend their entire life being in debt. That’s the way of life and they are happy about it. Then there are people who want to do something different in life – but never have the guts to do so.

God, I don’t want to write about this.

There is so much superficiality in the thoughts you expressed. How much you might want to convince all your readers, its sad to read even you are a part of that ‘masses’

If you have a dream, go for it, regardless of what others around you are doing.

Hmm let me see, I do not have A dream, but then most of what you wrote here does not fit me. Why is that?

Maybe it’s in the assumption that people face problems only when they are working on A dream. Maybe it’s in the assumption that only people chasing A dream face challenges. Maybe it’s in the assumption that without a dream/problems/challenges, people do not have variety in their lives.

For me, if you are chasing A dream, and are living your days for That dream, then you are hardly doing anything else, and then until that dream is achieved, your days are identical to each other. And when The dream is fulfilled, you don’t know what to do with your life.

I have faced that quite a few times in my life, though those dreams were not as huge as Apple or for that matter Crazyengineers.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not trying to put your “one dream guys” down. I admire your focus and passion, and I wish I had a dream like that.

All I am saying is, because you have a dream that you are so passionate about, does not mean Everyone who does not have one, is living life like a zombie.

haha. Amit, nice post. I’ll write a better post expressing my thoughts more clearly.

PS: I never said everyone else is living life like a zombie. Don’t get me wrong, please.
