I am a big fan of the Internet. I spend most of my time online. I think Internet is wonderful. Yet I see lot of educated people have no clue about how to use the Internet. So here is the Big K’s guide to using Internet.

First of all, understand that Internet is beyond Gmail, YouTube, FaceBook, Orkut & Yahoo Messenger and free songs ocean. There are so many things you can do on the Internet. Here are few of them:-

1. Earn Money: Have you ever had a chance to look at Zazzle.com? Zazzle allows you sell t-shirts online. All you have to do is come up with a nice design or slogan. Zazzle does everything else for you – from printing to shipping to handling returns: everything. You can earn very good commissions on every t-shirt sold through your online shop [which is also free to set up].

2. Blog: I bet you do not know how good you are at writing. If you have not realized the true potential in you – it is the time to do it. Head over to www.wordpress.com and start a free blog. A blog is simply an online journal [short for web log]. Write anything – about terrorism, poverty, your old memories, upload your photographs, write about your friends – whatever. You could be the next J.K. Rowling. You never know!

Oh yes, you can also make money by setting up ads on your blog. It’s simple and free!

3. Learn to play Musical Instrument: Each one of you always wanted to play a musical instrument. Why not go to an online free tutorials site and learn the basics of your favourite instrument? Give it a thought.

4. Participate in online discussions: Seriously, there are many communities on the Internet that can help you spend your online time constructively. For example, if you are interested in engineering, check out www.CrazyEngineers.com. If you are an MBA enthusiast, head over to www.PagalGuy.com. If you are interested in reading about latest start-ups; go to www.TechCrunch.com.

5. Set up your own website: Do you think it takes a techie to set up a website? Not at all! All you need is a nice domain name [can get it for $6-9/Year] and some web-space. Share your culinary skills with the world. Or just write tutorials for the KG kids or start online Math/Science class. You can do anything. All you need is some inner motivation to ‘Just Do It!’.

These are just few starters. Look beyond your regular sites. There is a huge world out there. All you need is some inner motivation & action.

    Hey biggie!
You mentioned about that zazzle thing. I tried checking that…also made some cool stuff. Do you really think if people find it matching to their taste they encourage it..I mean do they really buy it?!
