Why do people –

1. Include their birth day/year in their email Ids? Ex.,

2. Say ‘noe’ to complete an English sentence? Ex: I told you noe? It’s so crappy noe…

3. Not wear helmet even after seeing people die in road accidents?

4. Try to lift 20 times their own weight in gymnasium?

5. Working in software companies talk in English with their kids?

6. From Pune look down on people from Nagpur?

7. Think that it is necessary to talk to the waiter [captain?] in English in big hotels?

8. Try to eat Masala Dosa using fork & spoon?

9. Always need external motivation?

10. Not improve even after reading Big K’s Superblog?

11. Not pay attention to their own health?

12. Who travel in cars spit on the road?

13. Forward messages to me that end in “Forward this to every Indian…if you are a true Indian”?

14. Send 100s of SMSs every day for no reason at all?

15. Talk for hours on the phone?

16. Create fish market in every meeting?

17. Not learn to type?

18. Think investment is all about putting their money in stock market, real estate or mutual funds?

19. Think they will start their own consultancy after spending few years in corporate world?

20. Read this blog but not comment?

Include their birth day/year in their email Ids? Ex.,
Because that is easy to remember. I had one email id like kaustubh4932@….com created by the site, since kaustubh@… was not available. I am still struggling to recollect what that email id was!!

From Pune look down on people from Nagpur?
Because People from Nagpur also try hard to look down on people from Pune.
    The argument continues

    Not learn to type?
Because typing is not the ultimate aim of life. More than how fast and gramatically correct you write, what you write is more important.

The questions asked by Big K have been haunting me for quite some time too…

I guess the answer lies in the fact that people care more about their prestige and social standing than doing what they want to.

Another one in the series of posts that don’t make much sense… ( your blog, you can write post as per your wish).. but this amazing… you posted a comment on your post under your real name! Cheers to that!

@Pallavi. Yes, these days I’m hungry for comments. In fact, most of the comments on this blog are self written. 🙂

@ Pallavi, thats another “K”.. what are the chances of that 😉

Nothing wrong with #1. As “ashraf” was not available, I have my year (last two digits) included because its easy for others to remember instead of some random letters of my uncommon surname 🙂

I think what should be #1 instead is why people use silly e-mail add for professional correspondence like iamsupercool2000

I have not seen anyone do #2 before though… is that specific to India?

@ Big K Write posts that are worth commenting on and you would get loads… and why are you all the time pointing out what is wrong with people, society etc. you too are not perfect and nor is the world- which constitutes of people like you and me…

I suggest write your next post on- what I think is not right with me and let others also list down what is not right with them ( 2 points each) and do a reality check!

@ Ash. Reading K’s blogs and posts make me aware of the fact that he does comment on his own posts under his real name. Secondly, he just posted a comment accepting it was him… CheerS!

@ big K My apologies that I don’t agree with what have said in this post! And if I may say so, I don’t think your post and your mission statement match… first figure out the mistakes in yourself do something about them and then go about talking issues with others and what according to you are wrong and stupid….

And yes, no need to be defensive. If you can be critical about so many things then I am sure you too can take some in your stride… my contribution as a reader to the mission statement of your blog

@Pallavi: I’ve figured out all the mistakes in me and worked on them. If you think the points I’ve written in my above posts are ‘mistakes’, then I have full right to talk about them because I don’t repeat those mistakes. those mistakes. Let me use right words to put it in ‘other way’. I only wrote my observations and it is your interpretation that I’m pointing out mistakes in other people.

@ Big K; now that’s some point, you have figured out mistakes in yourself and worked on them so it gives you right to now point it out in others… Thanks for this Revelation!

And what about taking ‘observation’ (I hope this is the right word) of others about you.
I ME MYSELF attitude- that’s what makes K think he is big! And I take a bow to that….

    Its other way around here.
We go to INDIAN Restaurant and we order in HINDI and they answer in HINGLISH with a fake accent. i hate that!!

We don’t ask for fork and knifes , we are given one to lunch on with.

we eat pani puri with hand , I am OK when AUSSIES stare but don’t expect our own country men strae at us!!!But frankly people do eat with hand.

Its not with people, its what they want to see I guess

Some argument here… cool stuff. I’m just wondering what makes people to show off their fighting skills on the open. 🙂

The word ‘I’ is very dangerous.

One more question: Why do people fight over satisfying egos?

#6 is because we Puneites *are* superior to Nagpurians. Live with it 😉

    #7 – captain?

#5 I wonder about it also. And not just software company wallahs yaar… I think all wannabe public does that.

#3 is a pet peeve of mine too.

    #13 is irritating!

#21 make lists pointing out problems with others all the time? 😉

    4. if its a guy doing that, its probably to show off in front of a chick, if its a girl trying that, either she’s superwoman or she is a feminist trying to prove men and women are all same! 😀

    9. becoz they don’t get to read Big K’s blog everyday 😀

    10. coz they are born morons? :O

    13. becoz they are trying in their silly little ways to show their patriotism 😀

    14. that is probably desperation after getting a monthly FREE sms balance voucher and when only 5 days are left for it to expire, realisation hits that there still are 278 sms left in the balance. Hence, TYPE AWAY!!! 😀

PS- thats frm personal experience 🙂

    19. opening a consultancy is probably like advertising: BEEN there, DONE that, REGRETTING it, and TELLING anyone who wud listen! 😀 😀
