I think Google Chrome is the best!

After using using Internet for so many years, I’m pretty confident that I am one of the advanced users of Internet. Like any other advanced user, I install every new version (including the betas and Relese Candidates) of popular (and not so popular) web browsers.

I think Google Chrom is the best browser available on the Internet today. It never crashes, is extremely faster and cleaner and lets me do all my work.

Firefox was my default browser until last week but not anymore. It crashes often and when I open more than 5 tabs, it goes down!

IE 8 has disappointed me. I’ve had hopes from Redmond Folks, but IE 8 is not good for me. Even though their tests claim that it’s one of the fastest browsers, I don’t see it in action. The page that opens in just 4 seconds in Google Chrome, takes about 7 seconds in Firefox 3 and over 10 seconds in IE8!

Now all I need in Google Chrome is a small email notifier and WYSIWYG editor support in Google Chrome. Google are you listening?

@Amit: Surprizingly, Chrome didn’t crash even once during last one week. The latest Google Chrome is awesome. Yes, it used to crash when it was young, but I think Google fixed it. Have you tried the latest Chrome?

WYSIWYG editors of most of the CMSs do not work in Google Chrome. It works fine for WordPress, but not for joomla and drupal (I guess). I’d love to see that!

Hopes from Redmond: Yeah 😉 !

When it comes to browsers, I never say which is the best for risk of ignorance on my part :p

I’m also using Chrome at times. Firefox is stable for me.. I’ve opened 30 tabs at one go a few days back. Even the portable version (on USB) still works like a charm. Opera is still good too!

Which browser is the “best” is probably a matter of personal preference and is highly situational. Since there are billions of websites, hundreds of different OSes and distros, users will invariable find a better browser to suit their needs. Even a browser like Lynx can be considered the “best” if you are only interested in text 🙂

I have tried all IE8, FF 3.0.8 and Google Chrome. In my observation, Chrome was the slowest browser. I tried opening my company website (which has elements of flash on every page) and it returned following results.

    IE8: 7 seconds
    Firefox: 10 seconds
    Chrome: 12 seconds

I have even tried opening igoogle and it was the fastest on IE8. Yet IE has crashed, or behaved very abruptly on almost every occasion I tried using it. Firefox crashed a couple of times, but only that much. Chrome never crashed.

Still, I’m some how addicted to Firefox, for a strange reason. If the voters were emotional, FF would win hands down
