Add Bing Search To Google Chrome

by The Big K on June 28, 2009

Shall we all help Microsoft gain a considerable share of the online search market? Follow these steps -

1. Fire up your Google Chrome.

2. Look for the Chrome Settings button in top right corner of the Chrome window. Click it.

3. Select the options menu item.

4. In the basics tab, click on ‘Manage’ button in the ‘Default Search’ section.

5. Click on ‘Add’ button. Enter following details: Name: BING, Keyword: Bing, URL: http://www.bing.com/?setmkt=en-US&q=%s

6. Click OK and save the settings.

7. Done.

Now, whenever you search from the Omnibox (The address bar) of Google Chrome, the searches will be routed to Microsoft’s Bing search engine which damn fast and produces very good search results.

Hey I liked Bing too. One good thing about that is it does not throw up redundant links.

But the idea of adding Bing to Chrome was really evil. “Tamraj Big K ki jai ho!!!” ;)

i like bing when iam searching something iam sure of…but you cant beat google, for one even when you dont know spelling google corrects it,it give you clue..try this with bing it will be disaster.please bing stop adding it on chrome, you made me download chrome again coz i thought it had something wrong…if you want to stay ahead .develop a search engine that has ability to guide you even when you have no clue of what you r specifically looking for, thats what google has done, and google gives you wider choice too,,you have a long way.

According to http://tinyurl.com/ldjntp , all you need for the url is http://www.bing.com/search?q=%s … Here’s a screenshot of the suggested settings for Bing in Chrome, from the Bing Community Blog: http://www.bing.com/community/cfs-filesystemfile.ashx/__key/CommunityServer.Blogs.Components.WeblogFiles/search.metablogapi/7418.clip_5F00_image022_5F00_20DAE05E.jpg

Just a heads up…
Tested and working.

Microsoft Bing would be the closet competitor of Google. but i still use Google because it shows more relevant results on the serp.

i have been evaluating the search results of Microsoft Bing compared to Google and they are comparable. Bing gives almost the same relevant search results just like Google.

Bing search engine gives almost the same search results as Google. Looks like Google will now have a tough competition when it comes to search engine technology.

I use Bing and Google whenever i want to find something on the internet. I think that both search engines are very good. `
