Rejecting job @ IIM for the spirit of entrepreneurship

by The Big K on January 10, 2010

Every year, I hear the news that IIM grads reject high salary offers made at IIMs to turn entrepreneurs. What makes me sick is that those who are determined to be entrepreneurs need not even appear for the job interviews and save some precious time of the recruiters.

What do you think about this?

Biggie, I don’t have confirmations about the other IIMs, but the scene at IIM-I is different. If a participant wants to start-up, then he has to opt OUT of the placements. Same thing is at IIM-A, the high salaries they reject would be those of PPOs (Pre-placement Offers) that they might get during their internships.

Methinks you are misinformed.
