Amethi, Uttar Pradesh Development

I apologies for my ignorance on this so I’m all ears to the facts. The Gandhi family has been winning elections from the Amethi (Uttar Pradesh) for many decades now. I wonder why Amethi and Uttar Pradesh isn’t very well developed yet. I would have loved to hear Amethi coming up as one of the most developed town with thousands of jobs and Uttar Pradesh as the most developed state in India. Sadly, our brothers in UP have to migrate to Mumbai to make a living.

…and Rahul Gandhi is busy understanding the problems of Mumbaikars.

Help me with the facts, please. Am I wrong?
