Why Don’t We Have The Basic Sense Of Rhythm?

by The Big K on July 9, 2010

I’m convinced that lot of people do not have sense of music & rhythm. But it is surprising that people can’t clap in sync in any Aarti. Every time you’re clapping in any Aarti, you can notice at  least one person totally out of snyc.

Why is that so?

lol! Same goes with Happy Birthday song as well, the part where the person's name is sung out?. I think I am one such non-synchronizer . When I was doing a bhajan at an ISKON, I was handed out hand bells to go in sync with the mrudangam and dhol and I think in not more than 15 mins , someone politely took them off from me . May be we are not capable of being in sycn with rest all? or unaware of the tune?

that was really funny durga :P

and about being in rhythm, i guess it is more about being out of the real world than being out of rhythm. Sometimes people do get immersed in other thoughts when doing such monotonous jobs( I do not mean to offend but sometimes it does get boring for me, especially during long prayers).

everyone has a sense of rhythm and beats; it is just the question of who expresses it best, and that depends on the interest factor I guess.

Coz old people don't care about sync, and young people don't want to do aarti hence don't sync! lol…
