India’s Magic Star – Unimpressive

So, I happened to watch an episode of India’s Magic Star. One magician did some usual levitation that any kid could guess. Magic Guru Franz Hararay said it was an ‘Okay’ illusion to which the magician responded with words –

“Sir, I don’t want to copy David Copperfield. You think we are smaller magicians than you are. You should copy me, I’ve been doing this for 40 years. It takes lots of efforts to do what I do ….”

I felt sick to hear above comment. Franz Hararay was only telling him that he expected something more exciting, awesome as the show was nearing the finals. To which the magician responded with a completely vague comment.

In the USA, they do lot of research and develop their illusions. This research does not necessarily need money. There are many Street Magicians who do wonderful tricks just with the regular items.

Has any of our Indian magician done any research in magic? If yes, we want to see it!

Message to Franz Hararay – You are watching kids perform the tricks which are being performed for years, without any innovation, improvement. Thanks for being polite.

I remember you had blogged about quick updates in wikipedia. This is what I found for Franz Hararay on Wikipedia :-
"In 2010, Franz Harary is playing the role of judge in a magical T.V show India's Magic Star which is being telecast on the Indian channel Star One where several of the contestans complained about his odd marking and obvious bias for the eventual winner"
    Who updates Wikipedia?…. 🙂

I see you are becoming a TV buff. You watch too many reality shows! I guess I should say best of luck for your participation in Indian Idol 6. 🙂
