Pune’s Shopkeepers (Vs) I

In the past few days, I’ve had multiple realizations of what the legendary Marathi author P.L. Deshpande wrote about Pune’s shopkeepers. He wrote, “The customer is the least important entity for Pune’s shop keepers”. In the last 15 days, I got insulted by two shopkeepers and I couldn’t do anything about it.

The same is true with Pune’s Auto-Rickshawallas. They care the least about their customers.

Narrating the incidents will only hurt die-hard Pune lovers.

Chuck it.

and the sad thing is that the Punekars are proud of their rude behaviour.

Not only in Pune, We too have them here at some places.
They don't care about customers. I don't know, whether they don't know the respect or they won't give the respect.

I too have heard things about the people in Pune. For eg, there are boards hung outside the house telling people not to ask for water!

… and I'm proud of Punekars. After all, who else will we laugh at?
