Before you read the rest of this post, hold you breath for 1 minute.

If you’re still alive, I hope you know how it feels when you desperately want to get out of situation – but you can’t. Aruna Shanbaug is under coma for over 37 years and she can’t do a thing on her own. Her friend, Pinki Virani had filed a case for Aruna’s Mercy Killing and today, Indian Supreme Course, has denied Euthanasia to Aruna Shanbaug. Supreme Stupidity, Indian Supreme Court!

The judges said that Euthanasia is illegal in India and Aruna should be allowed to live until she dies natural death.

What do you think –

Are you sure she wants to end her life??
Because, the case was filed by her friend…not her.
Suicide should be made legal… I am not so sure about Euthanasia, especially in this case.

If SC takes a decision for one case, it becomes a law! So it can’t take the decision. Euthanasia can’t be made legal. If legalized, we may have a lot more problems! Suicide is right now a crime in India. And IT CAN’T BE LEGALIZED !!!

Majority of people here say it’s stupidity. If SC takes a decision for one case it SHOULD NOT BE THE LAW! I don’t get it! Aruna Shanbaug’s case is different.

Euthanasia should be legalized because unless doctors approve it and the patient is beyond recovery and has no willingness to live, who are we to keep them alive against their will?

Whenever the SC gives a judgment in any case. ok lets say if SC allows this in Aruna’s case. There are many more cases like this in India. They will give reference to this case! I will like you to see a marathi movie “Sukhaant” (सुखान्त) starring Atul Kulkarni whose mom is the one suffering from some disease and wants death. Atul is a lawyer in that movie. All your doubts will be cleared. In the end, he kills his mother himself and gets jailed!

And BTW, such cases happen almost daily. Some one is kept on ventilator and if the doc’s feel that there is no point in doing so and that the patient is not going to recover, they cut out the ventilator. The patient eventually dies (not is some miracles!)
This is passive Euthanasia. In active, you kill the patient using some technique and this is something that just can’t be legalized!

Anyone can file a suite against the owner and author of this blog regarding contempt of court for its “STUPIDITY”.
