My gadgetophilia made me buy iPad 2. After using iPad for few hours, I realized that typing on iPad’s virtual keypad is a real pain in the ass. So I decided to shell out another 3800 rupees to buy a bluetooth keyboard so that I can make some ‘official’ use of the iPad. Until now, the iPad was being used as an entertainment device (which is what it’s meant for, seriously!). It’s real fun to play Angry Birds and Labryinth on the iPad. Superb graphics and ease of use of iPad is meant only to make us lesser productive and waste hours of our precious time.
After getting the bluetooth keyboard, then next obvious thing to do was to get the official WordPress App. The standard WordPress admin dashboard doesn’t work as expected in iPad’s Safari. It was obvious that WordPress App for iPad would solve all the problems. After all, it’s been developed by Automattic – the creators of WordPress – one of the best designed CMS on the web.
The official WordPress App for iPad is a disaster. I wonder how Automattic folks failed in designing WP app. Nothing really works as expected and I just hope that WP folks are aware.
Finally, I decided to go ahead with the standard Safari interface for iPad and typing this post from iPad. I’m not sure whether I’ll be able to add images and align them. If you’re thinking of buying iPad for some official use – Don’t! It’s still an entertainment device and far from replacing laptops.
