Until now, I believed that digital media offers huge benefits over traditional ways of advertisements. The biggest advantage – they are relevant to the content you are reading and relevant to what you’re searching on the Internet. Second, they mix well with the content so that they aren’t ‘intrusive’. Times Of India is a leading newspaper of India that seems to be preparing for the recession by making sure that the advertising revenue growth is more than ever before. As a result, Times Of India has started accepting advertisements that users can’t skip. See what I encountered on TOI today –

TOI Advertisements - Lost In The Digital World

For your information; the above screenshot is Times Of India’s front page! Reminds me of the internet puzzles where you’ve to find clues on the webpages. I challenge you to find the content on above page. I know you’re giving up already!

Sincere note to TOI digital media team: What’s up, folks? Revenue targets too high?

gues what?? and at a point when you are really into the news, the advertisement on the side menu bar suddenly expands to occupy the whole page. Did you try clicking on the ‘close’ button, it simply doesnot work as soon as its clicked! this has become very very irritating
