Pehla Nasha – Keoraf & I

by The Big K on February 17, 2008

I’m a member of Indian Guitar Tabs forum (IGT). One of the IGT members, Keoraf (I guess he’s from Netherlands) liked my voice and offered to do the mixing of tracks. So we got together, he recorded the “Pehla Nasha” track and sent it over to me via email.   I then played the track through my headphone and recorded vocals for the track, created a .mp3 and sent it across to Keoraf. Keoraf is a magician, I believe. He [...]

Sparrows & Crows – where did you go?

by The Big K on February 16, 2008

Sparrow

My Grandpa & I were discussing about how the Earth is coming to an end and the signals that mother Earth is giving to us, the lesser humans. My grandpa asked, “When was the last time you saw a sparrow or a crow?” I was taken aback ! I haven’t spotted a single sparrow or a crow in last so many months! Where are you all the sparrows & crows? I miss you! Pollution (air, sound both!) drove you away, [...]

Xobni - its inbox reversed

The world is going ga-ga over the email once again. Ever since javascript & AJAX started powering the web pages, there’s been a flood of companies wanting to do something ‘new’ to the rich internet applications. Google launched its Gmail, Zimbra came up with Zimbra Collaboration Suite and others are following the trend. Yahoo too, launched its AJAX powered webmail few days ago. While the world moves from desktop applications to rich internet applications, there are still few companies that [...]

The sorry state of Indian engineers

by The Big K on February 15, 2008

Who am I to comment? I’m an Indian with a first class degree in Electrical Engineering & I love my country. Engineers are the nation builders, they say. But when I see 90/100 engineering students (who visit Engineers Forum ) don’t even know how to construct a simple sentence in English, I feel bad. When I see them asking for “ready made code/idea/topic for my engineering projects”, I feel bad. I feel terribly bad. The common people depend on us [...]

Can entrepreneurship be taught in classroom?

by The Big K on February 13, 2008

My sister attended “Entrepreneurship Development Workshop” and she briefed me about it. The workshop had a series of lectures; one by a real life entrepreneur & others by college professors. I’ve been thinking if entrepreneurship can really be taught in classroom? I don’t know the answer. But my common-sense filled brain tells me – “No”. But even India’s leading management institutes have come up with entrepreneurship development programs. Maybe you can talk about what it takes to be an entrepreneur [...]

Marathi Movie: Shwaas

Shwaas

Once upon a time, there lived a little boy in a small villege in the Konkan region of India. The boy, one day, complaints to his grandpa that he’s some problem with looking at far objects. The local doctor suggests that the kid should be diagnosed by an eye-specialist in Mumbai. So his (poor) grandpa takes the boy to Mumbai. There, the doctors says that the boy is losing his vision & will be blind very soon. There’s no way [...]

As this report from Bloomberg says, the world’s biggest software maker – Microsoft is all set to buy the world’s biggest Internet property – Yahoo!. Steve Ballmer – Microsoft’s CEO is now attempting world’s biggest technology take over. Now that I’ve decided to talk about this news on Superblog, you might want to think how important is this deal to the internet users and Yahoo’s shareholders. First of all, it seems to me that Yahoo! Inc. isn’t doing very well [...]

How to be happy

by The Big K on January 29, 2008

Today, I am going to enlighten you on happiness & how to be happy. Mind well, although I said “happy”, I will talk about being joyous. There is a thin line between joy & happiness. Happiness, often, is temporary. Having a new car, a new job or winning an unexpected lottery will make you happy. Joy, I think, is very unpredictable. You are joyful when you are doing something that you love. Joy is obtained by doing/following stuff of your [...]

A good product – Sky Scapes

by The Big K on January 27, 2008

I’ve always believed that it does not take a super-special brain to be creative. Just a little ‘extra’ thinking and you’ll get it in you. Recently I came across such a product and I think its really nice.   The product is named “Sky Scapes’. The concept is very simple, yet its fantastic. I’d love to have something like that at the place where I work. Its a fluorescent light diffuser with beautiful pictures on it. Here’s how it looks [...]
