The Big K’s Unofficial Responses To Chetan Bhagat At India Today Conclave 2012

By on Mar 20, 2012 in Wisdom | 7 comments

While flipping channels today, I stumbled upon following ‘India Today Conclave 2012’ video on Headlines Today channel. Just few minutes into the video and I realized I was commenting on almost every alternat sentence uttered by Chetan Bhagat. While Chetan Bhagat is¬†immensely¬†popular among Indian youth and is believed to represent the young generation of India (which will lead this country in future); I do not subscribe to think school of thoughts. I imagined myself being a part of the show, sitting on an invisible chair on the stage and passing my own comments on whatever Chetan Bhagat had to say. Watch the video while you read my own responses below – Chetan @ 9:20: Babaji Mujhe Bhasm mat kar dena … Big K: Ha ha ha, Chetan you’re so funny. Ha haa haa… That was the funniest joke you’ve ever..haa haa haa Chetan: @ 12:57: What about the people...

How to write like Chetan Bhagat

By on Oct 9, 2009 in Wisdom | 58 comments

I won’t say I liked ‘5 point someone’ but I could manage to finish that novel in couple of hours. I read the second one, “One Night @ Call Center”, just to keep up with the peer pressure. Almost everyone I know is a Chetan Bhagat fan and every person who mentions ‘reading’ as a hobby in their resume has read Chetan Bhagat’s book(s). No wonder he’s India’s #1 selling author [claim made by his official website]. I decided to keep away from the third one, which had excellent reviews from the fans, other said it was crap. I stayed away from the book. Chetan is now releasing his 4th novel titled “2 states” which is about inter-community marriages in modern India. I read the teaser and found out that Mr. Bhagat has began writing novels that can be easily turned into typical Bollywood flick. I believe one can write like...

Chetan Bhagat, Madhurima Banerjee (Chetan’s PR) & I

By on Aug 29, 2008 in Wisdom | 33 comments

Through this blog post, I plan to give some good advice to Madhurima Banerjee, who handles Chetan Bhagat’s PR. I believe Madhurima is a nice person and she had no intention of playing with our sentiments. So here comes my advice to Madhurima so that she does not get the blame for wasting time & money of people who contact her for Chetan’s interview. As a matuer person, I understand that with Chetan’s growing popularity and soon to be released movies, Madhurima must have gotten too busy to handle the PR well. My tete-a-tete with Madhurima occurred over the phone [In May, 2008] when I asked her if Chetan would be interested in a Small Talk with us. I even sent an email to Madhurima, requesting for the interview. She said she’ll get in back in touch with us, very soon. So, I called her after few days and asked if she had any confirmation from Mr. Chetan Bhagat....

Its not so good, today.

Three Mistakes Of Your Life

By on Jun 10, 2008 in Wisdom | 3 comments

Latest novel by Chetan Bhagat: “Three Mistakes Of My Life” is selling in book stores like hot cake. I haven’t yet read the book, but I heard the reviews from my sister. She thinks the book is ‘okay’. The title is catchy enough to take Rs. 125/- out of your pocket. I thought of writing about three mistakes of my life. Although, I personally think that I don’t have any “mistakes” (note the quotes) in my life, I’d point out following three if anyone offered Rs. 1 crore to point them out. As they say, the worst three words together in English are “could have been”. Anyway, here we go – Mistake # 1: Not studying hard enough to get into IIT Little more concentration & dedication could have landed me into IIT (Indian Institute Of Technology) – India’s answer to world’s premiere engineering/technology...
