Do you still have faith in Indian judiciary?

By on Dec 7, 2013 in Wisdom | 2 comments

No matter how big of a legal mess you get into – you are more or less expected to say “I have full faith in judiciary”. But day by day, I seem to be losing faith in the so called judicial system in India. I find it incredibly ridiculous that the lady justice wearing a blindfold. I mean, why the heck on this Earth she has to go by which party adds more weight to the weighing balance. It’s kind of similar to my University – where the scoring was purely based on the number of supplements you attach to the main answer sheet – giving an impression to the evaluator that this candidate he/she is evaluating has a ‘lot to write’ – and therefore everything written in the answer sheet is correct. That’s pure bullshit! I know all of that ‘equal justice for all’ under any situation. But isn’t the system flawed? Under the...

RIP, Swadeshi. Welcome Wal-Mart & India’s Death

By on Sep 11, 2012 in Wisdom | 2 comments

According to the latest reports, the Indian Government led by the Congress Party is all set to announce Foreign Direct Investment in the retail sector. Earlier, the government proposed 51% FDI, but now seems to have settled with 49%. What this essentially means is any foreign company will now be able to set-up their retail shop in India with 49% ownership of it. It was sad to see India dying a slow death but the government has now accelerated the process. We’ll soon see markets filled with American / Chinese / Japanese products which we’ll believe are of superior quality. In return, these companies will take hundreds of thousands of crores of rupees of wealth from India. The mathematics of death couldn’t be simpler. So wal-mart will come to India. It will buy the vegetables at their own rate ( farmers won’t have a choice anymore, thanks to Government’s...

Why Is There So Much Air Pollution In India & Especially On Indian Roads?

By on Feb 5, 2012 in Wisdom | 6 comments

Have you ever wondered why do we have so much air pollution in India? Why are we left with no choice but to breath air contaminated with all harmful & toxic stuff? Let’s not talk about the pollution contributed by the industries. Rather, we’ll talk about it later once I’ve made my point. We can all talk about the pollution the roads – caused by all our vehicles. The first thing that comes to my mind is that because we’ve so huge population and consequently, we’ve so many vehicles on roads that we can’t avoid pollution. But I’ve a different take on this issue. I think number of vehicles isn’t the ‘big’ issue. The real issue is the technology that’s being used in vehicles & engines. I’m quite sure that there are more number of vehicles in Europe and in the USA than in India. But we don’t often...

I recently wrote about my Gadgetophilia which often results in restlessness and feeling of superiority. Now, before I write further, let me tell you tablets aren’t incredibly useful devices which will replace all your computing needs. Actually, it’s just an internet browsing & movie watching device when you are on the move. However, the best use of any Apple iDevice is the get the “Mine Is Better Than Yours” feeling while not showing it up on your face. The ‘natural’ you behave with an Apple device in your hand, the more jealous it makes people around you. I had almost decided to buy Samsung Galaxy Tab (Either 8.9 or 10.1, whichever launched first). Of course, I had visited several thousand websites to read reviews and see the demo videos of the tab. However, Apple decided to open a dedicated showroom in the city and I went to them on the...

Is There Any Talent Left In India?

By on Mar 12, 2011 in Entrepreneurship, Featured Articles, Wisdom | 8 comments

Unlike most of you – I am serious about my country’s development. But the more trust I put in people, the more disappointment I get. I sometimes wonder whether there’s any talent left in India. I’ve been looking to hire talented people and all I get is copy-paste masters who think they can quickly fool any system and get away with it. The most disappointment comes from people who you think are ‘really’ talented. From Ankit Fadia to Hassan Ali, India seems to be full of people who want short cuts to everything. Frg8 it, we evn us shrtcts in typin. u knw wht i mean? But those words don’t come from my own hiring experience for my venture, but from my experience as a recruiter for the companies I worked with. Copy-pasting job would start right at the ‘Career Objective’ in resume to a friend of mine telling me how Infosys guys were...
